Gabe Serbian, The Locust Drummer expired!

Gabe Serbian, The Locust’s veteran drummer, has passed away. The musician went away on April 30, according to the band’s social media accounts.

“It’s with heavy hearts that we have to share the passing of Gabe Serbian on April 30th, 2022. This world will miss Gabe as a friend, family member, musician and artist,” wrote the band. “He will continue to live on in so many ways and through everyone he has connected with during his time with us. May 1st is his birthday, and we hope that you can find a way to celebrate his life. During this difficult time we ask that you give Gabe’s family privacy.” There was no mention of a cause of death.

Though he now spends the majority of his time behind the drum kit, he first joined the band as a guitarist in 1998, following the departure of singer-guitarist Dylan Scharf. He switched to drums in 2001 and has been with the band ever since.

Serbian performed on all three of the experimental hardcore punk band’s albums during his stint with them, including their self-titled debut in 1998, Plague Soundscapes in 2003, and New Erections in 2007. He also appeared on four EPs released by the band.
