Jon Watts, the director of ‘Spider-Man,’ has left Marvel Studios’ ‘Fantastic Four.’
Mr. Fantastic will have to be replaced by Marvel Studios (filmmaker).
Jon Watts, the director of the “Fantastic Four” reboot, has departed the firm. Watts, who helmed all three “Spider-Man” films for Marvel Studios, including the $1.9 billion-grossing “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” wanted to leave the superhero genre.
“Collaborating with Jon on the ‘Spider-Man’ films has been a true pleasure,” said Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige in a statement. “We were looking forward to continuing our work with him to bring the Fantastic Four into the MCU but understand and are supportive of his reasons for stepping away. We are optimistic that we will have the opportunity to work together again at some point down the road.”
