Kardashians asking Blac Chyna to cough up more than $391K in legal fees
The Kardashian-Jenners’ attorney, Michael G. Rhodes, filed paperwork last week to request the money Blac Chyna owes them following their defamation trial that she lost — and it’s a pretty penny.
Kim Kardashian, Khloé Kardashian, Kris Jenner and Kylie Jenner are seeking more than $391,000 in costs related to the trial that brought the group to court for two weeks, the documents obtained by Page Six show.
The heftiest line items are the total costs for “models, enlargements and photocopies of exhibits,” which totaled more than $184,000, per the documents. Other charges include deposition costs, which totaled more than $63,000, as well as court reporter fees, which amounted to just under
Part of the judge’s decision when he ruled in favor of the reality TV family was that Chyna would have to cover the cost of their legal fees. Chyna’s attorney immediately told Page Six that she planned on appealing the decision, which prompted the model’s mother, Tokyo Toni, to launch a GoFundMe in the hopes of raising $400,000. It has raised only $1,355 so far.
Although the trial has come to a close, the drama continues as Chyna’s ex-fiancé Rob Kardashian has claimed she is trying to back out of their revenge porn settlement, stemming from him posting her nude photos on social media in July 2017.
Sources told Page Six that Chyna, 34, was willing to drop the revenge porn claims against Rob, 35, if he helped her get out of an unrelated lawsuit filed by Pilot Jones, one of her former boyfriends. In the affidavit, Rob’s attorney Melissa Lerner said the revenge porn case should not move forward since both parties already had agreed to settle.
In a statement to Page Six, Chyna’s attorney, Lynne Ciani, fired back at Rob and his legal team, saying, “Under California law, settlement discussions are confidential. Rob Kardashian has violated California law by revealing alleged details of ongoing settlement discussions.
“Chyna is permitted under California law to disclose that settlement discussions regarding her revenge porn case against her ex-fiancé are ongoing. When and if a confidential settlement is reached in this case, Chyna will alert the court first and then the media.”
