During their relationship, Kate Moss claims Johnny Depp never shoved her down any steps.

Model Kate Moss testified as a witness for Depp in the defamation trial of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard on Wednesday, assuring the jury that he never shoved her down the stairs.

Moss stated she had a romantic relationship with Depp from 1994 to 1998 and testified for less than three minutes. Depp’s side brought her as a rebuttal witness in response to testimony from Heard, who stated on the stand that she and her sister Whitney Heard Henriquez were in a confrontation with Depp near a set of stairs and that she thought about a report Depp had shoved Moss.
“He swung at Whitney, and I’d heard a rumor, a vague rumor, about that,” Heard testified on May 17.

Moss testified under oath on Wednesday that the allegation was false, that the couple went to Jamaica throughout their relationship and that during one of their trips, Moss fell down a flight of stairs and damaged her back.

“We were leaving the room and Johnny left the room before I did and there had been a rainstorm and as I left the room I slipped down the stairs and I hurt my back,” Moss said. “I screamed because I didn’t know what happened to me and I was in pain and he came running back to help me and carried me to my room and got me medical attention.”

Moss was asked by Depp’s lawyer if Depp had ever shoved her down the stairs during their relationship.
“No. He never pushed me, kicked me or threw me down any stairs,” Moss testified.

Heard’s legal team did not cross-examine Moss.

Depp has sued Heard for $50 million, claiming that an op-ed she penned in the Washington Post in 2018 defamed him and caused him to lose business. Heard has countersued Depp for $100 million, claiming that his attorney’s statements calling her allegations of Depp’s abuse a “hoax” defamed her and cost her business.
