Shuri and Okoye’s viral first look from ‘Black Panther Wakanda Forever’ has gotten a lot of attention from fans.

Although not much is known about the highly anticipated sequel to Marvel Studios’ Black Panther, fans recently got a glimpse at two of the film’s primary characters.

Fans can get an early peek at returning characters Okoye (Danai Gurira) and Shuri (Letitia Wright) in upcoming promotional material for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, with the latter rocking a whole new suit. Both characters are seen posing in the now-iconic salute established in the first film, which is a salute that citizens of the country give to one another.

While Okoye’s attire and overall appearance aren’t too different, Shuri’s is a departure from what fans have seen her in previous films. Although it has long been speculated that Shuri, T’Challa’s sister in the film, will take up the mantle as the next superhero, it is unclear whether this is an altogether new outfit or simply a trendy choice.

Ryan Coogler returns to helm Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, based on a screenplay he co-wrote with Joe Robert Cole.

Most of the original cast members, including Lupita Nyong’o as Nakia, Danai Gurira as Okoye, Angela Bassett as Ramonda, Martin Freeman as Everett K. Ross, Letitia Wright as Shuri, and Winston Duke as M’Baku, will reprise their roles.

Furthermore, Tenoch Huerta (Narcos: Mexico) has supposedly been cast as the adversary in the future film, with some fans and outlets assuming that he may play Namor. Michaela Coel, the creator and star of I May Destroy You, has also apparently signed on for an unspecified part.
