The new firm of Amy Hennig is working on a Star Wars game.
Skydance New Media is collaborating with Lucasfilm Games on a Star Wars game that will be “richly cinematic action-adventure.”
A Star Wars game is in the works at Amy Hennig’s new video game business. Skydance New Media said in a news statement that it is working in “collaboration with Lucasfilm Games to develop and produce a richly cinematic action-adventure game featuring an original story in the legendary Star Wars galaxy.”
Skydance New Media, a video game division of the Skydance film production firm, was founded in 2018 by Amy Hennig, a former EA and Naughty Dog creative director. Hennig was, ironically, already working on a Star Wars game at EA when he left the business in 2018.
In an interview with Eurogamer, Hennig said of her departure from EA, “I’m not doing anything Star Wars.”
It’s unclear whether this game is the same as the one Hennig was working on before leaving EA, or whether it’s a completely new Star Wars project. In any event, this game will join Ubisoft’s, Respawn’s, and Quantic Dream’s already crowded field of blockbuster Star Wars titles.
This unnamed Star Wars game is the new video game studio’s second project. Skydance New Media revealed in October of last year that it would be working on an original “narrative-driven, blockbuster action-adventure” Marvel game, bringing the studio’s total number of Disney-owned games to two.
