"Brendan Langley was strolling through the airport with his bags when he was approached by a United Airlines employee who claimed to 'manage the airport,'" Jackson recalls.

"When Brendan tried to ignore him, the assailant pursued him and insulted him, calling him a 'p***y' and challenging him to a fight."

Langley, 27, yelled for help, according to Jackson, but no one came to his aid. He also argues that the viral video only depicts part of the scenario, and that CCTV backs up his version of events.

"Brendan was in reasonable fear of bodily violence, and he defended himself fairly and lawfully, according to footage from airport security cameras. Brendan will most likely not face any charges."

Although Langley was the only person detained, the United employee was fired almost immediately after the video went viral on social media.

Brendan Langley's job, with the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League (CFL), has been suspended indefinitely.
