Two people were rescued after falling into a chocolate-filled tank in Pennsylvania, at the Mars M&M facility in Pennsylvania on Thursday.
M&M'S® chocolate candies have been a famous candy treat since 1941. The snack-sized pieces of chocolate in a colorful candy shell are instantly recognizable all over the globe.
Officials say two employees were rescued after falling into a chocolate-filled tank at the Mars M&M facility in Pennsylvania on Thursday.
Both individuals were sent to the hospital, according to Lancaster County 911 Dispatch Assistant Supervisor Nick Schoenberger.
Schoenberger explained, "One patient was transferred by ground and one individual was transported by helicopter."
Brad Wolfe, supervisor - 911 dispatch, told CNN that "fire crews have eliminated removing them right out of a tank." "They'll have to cut a hole in the tank's side to get them out,"
According to Wolfe, it's unknown how the folks ended themselves in the chocolate tank.
According to Wolfe, no injuries have been recorded at this time.
"We are actively monitoring the situation," a Mars Wrigley representative told CNN. "Our first focus is supporting emergency services on site."
